Southwold

Dating back to the doomsday book, a settlement has existed on the site where Southwold now stands and in 1489 received its town charter from Henry VII. Southwold has a lot of character created by the distinctive scattered greens, which came about as a result of a huge fire in 1659 which destroyed many of the towns buildings.
